Directions to the University

By road

Approaching from the NW or SE along the M6, leave at Junction 6 (signposted Birmingham Central) to join the A38 (M). At the end of the motorway keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through three underpasses to join the A38 Bristol Road. The University is on your right two and a half miles from the City centre.

Approaching from the M42 North, leave at Junction 8 to join the M6 northbound and follow the instructions above.

Approaching from the SW, leave the M5 at Junction 4 (signposted Birmingham SW) to join the A38. The University is on the left of the A38 Bristol Road approximately eight miles from the motorway.

The approach to the University through the southern suburbs can be confusing. From the M40, it is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at Junction 1, heading north on the A38 Bristol Road. The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway.

By rail

All inter-city services to Birmingham arrive at New Street station. At least four trains depart from New Street station each hour for University station (final destination: Longbridge or Redditch).

By Taxi
If you are carrying heavy luggage, the best way to reach the campus is by taxi. There are taxi ranks at New Street station and throughout the City centre. The journey from the City centre takes about ten minutes. (From New Street it is about £7 to the Conference Park).

By Air

Birmingham International Airport has direct flights from destinations in the USA, Canada, Europe and the UK. The journey by taxi from the airport to the University takes approximately half an hour. Alternatively, a bus service from the airport to Birmingham International railway station connects with frequent rail services to New Street station in the City centre.

On arrival in London, frequent trains depart from London Euston railway station to Birmingham New Street. From Heathrow Airport take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington station and then the Underground or taxi to Euston. Alternatively, an Airbus runs from Heathrow Airport direct to Euston station. From Gatwick Airport take the Airport Express train to Victoria station and then the Underground or taxi to Euston.

See the conference park site and the University site for more information on directions and travel.
