Alan Turing Building                       Alan Turing Building

The Alan Turing Building has been designed by the well-known firm of architects Sheppard Robson. It consists of three fingers of four floors each, separated by a spacious atrium with its Pie In The Sky café and connected to each other by open bridges to encourage circulation. The building is named after Alan Turing, who was a Reader in Mathematics at Manchester, and is regarded as one of the founders of computer science. The building houses the School of Mathematics, the Photon Sciences Institute and the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics.
